Minutes of the SIT Meeting of 20 June 2001 Attendees: Al Steve L Harry Steve O'C Bob Rich Excuses:- Steve A (previous engagement: quiet table-for-two at Manumission) Kim - busy Thursday. Miscellaneous Maddisons, Gunwharf Tiger, Tiger - quick look around: very nice (no draft beer though!) Jonglers - (Harry arrives 10:30ish - better late...) Jonglers - at closing time, we check-out "upstairs". "Upstairs bar" seems ok, except that they don't sell draft lager. Not to worry, the adjacent Disco does sell the draft, so we can buy it in there (not forgetting the ear-defenders) then drink it in the "upstairs bar". However, when we get to the Disco bar, the barmaid's sign-language indicates that the lager is "off". Time to move on. On the way out, a bouncer asks why we are leaving. We tell him about the lager being "off". "I'll get you lager!" he says, with authority. About to follow, we check that it is ok to buy lager in the disco then drink it in the "upstairs bar". He looks at us as though we are mad - "No, you can't do that!". Half-way through asking the question "Why?", we realise that we don't even want to waste time listening to the answer and head back to Tiger, Tiger... Tiger, Tiger - drink till 2 Curry at the Curry Centre (Steve, Al, Rich) By the time I arrive home, it is the start of the "Longest Day" and it is virtually light. Still, 3-and-a-half hours before I have to get up! Did you spot the deliberate mistake? Yes, we forgot to visit the casino (better alert the Grosvenor shareholders!).
