Gentlemen,

I have discovered a place of interest, culture and fine ale for a 40th birthday party. I know for sure that I would be legible for such goings on, so let me entice you further.

On the mouth of the river Liffey lies a town called Dublin. 922km2 with and estimated population of 977,700. They say this town is getting bigger, they say its Dublin and Dublin in size every day.

The Norsemen ruled Dublin, except for a brief period of Celtic ascendancy in the early 11th century, until Anglo-Norman forces backed by England's King Henry II conquered the city in 1170.

Thus Dublin, the capital and largest city of the Irish nation, has for most of its history belonged to invaders. Now I do believe that we should invade Dublin's fair City ourselves. This fair city is available for our entertainment for a reasonable price too. My brother is going to Dublin next April with the Portsmouth Rugby Club Vecs tour, although the 2 teams they are to meet do not actually want to play any rugby at all.

I guess you can arrange this when your in the vectrans, but I digress, for the princely sum of £180 in English sterling they have arranged flights from Bournemouth International airport leaving Thursday and returning Sunday and 3 night accommodation in a fine hotel in the cultural part of town. Places of interest to see whilst there are of course and this is really a given I know, The Guinness factory.

But I would also like to draw your attention to a very fine championship golf course known as St. Margaret's Golf & Country Club ( this can be investigated further by looking at http://www.st-margarets.net). Check out the 12 and 18th holes. I also believe gentlemen that we should have a role of honour on the website, photos if necessary, I can arrange this of course. The role of honour would be in the theme of us all turning 40.

We should have a list in date order of all those turning ( including one that has turned ) 40 in the next coming months ( years in fact, as there are young amongst us, those little ones we have decided to adopt Alan and Kevin, who do not turn 40 until the year of our lord 2000 and 2.

Feed back appreciated, time waits for no man and all that. Golf sounds good, Guinness and ale sounds good and I believe there is some form of horse racing available as well. Life can not get any better, well maybe but you don't want me harping on about how I lost Helene now do you.

See all of you at the next sit, excuses have to be good as I do believe fines are now in operation.
